ABOUT
The San Diego PoetrySLAM is slowly becoming one of the nation’s premiere poetry slam venues. It provides a space for poets of all skill levels to fellowship and support each other in a competitive atmosphere while facilitating a transformational experience for the audience.
The "Gladiator Slam" is a series of poetry competitions. The top 2 competitors from each monthly slam will qualify for the "Gladiator Slam Finals", which will be a head to head poetry competition on July 14th. The winner will receive $500
Structure:
Qualifiers (March 10th - June 9th)
8 poets will compete in a 3 round slam. The 1st round is random order. The top 4 will move on to the 2nd round. The 2nd and 3rd round will be head to head. The top 2 competitors will qualify for the Gladiator Slam Finals
How do i sign up for the slam?
2 slots are reserved for current slam team members, the next 4 slots are 1st come 1st serve and there will be a lottery for the last 2 slots.
What time does signup start?
Signups begin at 7:15pm and the list closes at 7:30pm
How do I sign up?
Come to the venue, line up on the right side (if you are facing the building) of the door and the list will be brought out
