Mission statement:

The purpose of the Safe Space Committee, as representatives of the San Diego PoetrySLAM, is to foster and nurture a community for the arts that welcomes freedom of expression , accountability and respectful dialogue. Our goal is to promote the celebration of individual identity, while also being mindful and inclusive of the community at large. Through education and support, The Safe Space Committee engages with community members and leaders to promote spaces that celebrate cultural competency.
